A father and son team, John and Ed Lane, founded their company in 1912 under the extremely descriptive name of Standard Red Cedar Chest Company. As the name implied in the early days of the company, they only made red cedar chests for home storage purposes.
In the next sixty years, once the Lane family had managed to build a solid financial foundation for their business, they looked to expand their business interests when a smaller reclining chair company called Action Industries came up for sale. The purchase seemed to be a natural complement to the already well established family business and thus the Lane Home Furnishing Company was created.
Despite the fact that Lane Home Furnishing didn’t exclusively make reclining chairs, they are quite well known for these extremely comfortable and adaptable living room furniture pieces. These are made in over seventy different models and there is a Lane recliner that is suited for every need. There is everything from retro designs complete with wing-backs and rolled armrests to the more modern, plush and padded contemporary styling, with new models being introduced every year.
The price for these wonderful Lane recliners generally stands at $500 for the basic model to over $1400 for a power recliner. What makes the power recliner stand out is that it has been inspired by the adjustable seating of the luxury automobiles. It is also highly customizable and can take every aspect of comfort and convenience into account and incorporate it well into both the design as well as the execution.
There is no centralized Lane Home Furnishing outlet available just yet, but the company does provide a store locator tool on their website where you can easily locate a retailer of their products.
